1 Data Collection

We collect personal information such as name, phone number, email address, property address when you book a free measure and quote with us. This is to ensure an efficient and effective processing of your requirements to secure window furnisghings. We also automatically collect certain technical data, including your IP address and browsing behavior, to improve our website experience.

2 Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to understand how the site is used. The section below sets out exactly which tools we use and what each one records. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings, however disabling your cookies may affect the functionality of certain features on our site.

3 Analytics and Cookies

We want to know how people find and use our website so that we can make it better, and whether the advertising we pay for is actually working. Three tools help us do that. Between them they tell us things like which pages are read most, whether the site works properly on a phone, and which pages lead to an enquiry. We never sell any of this data to anyone.

The first tool is Google Analytics. When it is switched on it stores small files called cookies on your device, and it records the pages you view, roughly where you are (your city, worked out from your IP address), the type of device and browser you are using, and how you arrived at our site — for example from a Google search, a social media post, or a link on another website. It also records when someone completes our enquiry form or taps our phone number, so we can see which pages actually bring in work. Google is a global company, so this information may be stored and processed on servers outside Australia.

The second tool is Cloudflare Web Analytics. It simply counts page views and sets no cookies at all. It does not follow you across other websites and it does not collect personal information about you.

The third tool is the Meta pixel, which covers Facebook and Instagram. We advertise on both, and this is how we find out whether an ad actually led to an enquiry instead of guessing. It stores cookies on your device, records the pages you view, and notes when an enquiry form is completed. If you reached us by clicking one of our ads, it also records that click, so the enquiry can be matched back to the ad that produced it. Meta is a global company, so this information may be stored and processed on servers outside Australia.

One part of that deserves to be spelled out rather than buried. When you submit an enquiry form, we also send Meta a scrambled version of your name, email address and phone number. The scrambling is one-way: Meta never receives your actual details, and neither we nor they can turn the scrambled version back into them. Meta compares it against the same scrambled form of the accounts it already holds, and tells us only whether that enquiry came from one of our ads. This is ordinary practice for advertising on Facebook and Instagram, it is used only to measure our own advertising, and the details you give us are never sold or handed to anyone to build a profile of you.

Filling in our enquiry form is a separate thing from analytics. When you submit that form, the details you have typed — your name, your contact details and what you need quoted — are passed to us through the form service that runs it, so that we can get back to you. Google Analytics and Cloudflare record only that a form was completed; neither of them ever receives what you wrote in it. The one exception is the scrambled contact details sent to Meta, described above.

If you would rather not be counted, you are in control. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings, though the trade-off is that parts of this site and others may not work as well. Google also publishes a browser add-on that switches Google Analytics off on every website you visit. Cloudflare Web Analytics sets no cookies, so there is nothing there to opt out of. For Meta, the ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account let you limit how your activity is used, and its Off-Facebook Activity tools let you disconnect information of this kind from your account entirely.

4 Google Ads and Call Tracking

We also advertise on Google, and the section above does not fully cover how we measure that, so it is set out separately here.

When you arrive by clicking one of our Google ads, Google adds a click identifier to the web address you land on. We store that identifier on your device for up to 30 days, so that an enquiry made a few days after the click can still be credited to the ad that brought you here. It identifies the ad click, not you.

The phone number shown on this site is a call tracking number. It rings the same office and is answered by the same people. This applies to every visitor, however you arrived — a Google ad, a search result, a direct visit, or a link from another site. Our ordinary office number is listed at the end of this policy.

Call tracking tells the agency that runs our campaigns that a call was placed to that number, when it was placed, the number it came from, and which source brought you to the site. It is how we find out what actually generates phone calls instead of guessing. The provider we use for this is WildJar, an Australian company.

If you go on to fill in the enquiry form, that click identifier is submitted with it, so the enquiry can be credited to the right ad. It is the same identifier already stored on your device; the form simply carries it along with what you have typed.

We use Google Tag Manager to manage the measurement tags described in this section and the one above. It is a container that loads those tags and collects nothing by itself. It is administered on our behalf by the agency that runs our advertising.

You can clear the stored identifier at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, and Google's My Ad Center lets you control how your activity is used for advertising more generally.

5 Third-Party Services

Valoura Blinds Pty Ltd uses industry standard practices to secure your personal information, however we may share your data with our trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our business, such as our suppliers and digital marketing platforms. Although rest assured, we can guarantee these third parties are contractually obligated to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes specified by us.

At any point in time, upon the submission of your personal informations to book a free measure and quote, you have the right to access, update or request the deletion of your personal information held by Valoura Blinds Pty Ltd.
